Accurately depicting your property is very important for you and the satisfaction of your exchange partner. What is interesting though, for most members, the equality of an exchange (in terms of the property) is less important than other factors. We’ve exchange with other members where their home was much nicer than ours. And, we’ve had other exchanges where the reverse was true.
Property attributes matter, but not for the reason you may think. Why is the disparity of a property not so important in an exchange? Because an exchange is temporary in nature and, therefore, other factors are more important, like locality or circumstance. For example, if you are exchanging because you are visiting family, your most important factor is going to a place that is near them. Or you may be going to an out-of-town wedding. In either case, the location matters far more than whether the home you are staying at is exactly as nice as your home. Having said that, Property Attributes are important to let other members know what to expect if they exchange with you. |
