Hi, I’m Bob and my wife is Diane. We are seniorhomexchange.com. We’ve been exchanging our home since 2014. We wanted to create a different kind of place where likeminded people come together, find others who are willing to swap their house and (in a crazy cheap way) extend their travel dollars. If you join, you can find us and we can talk about swapping our homes.
We Have a Goal
Build a community of likeminded people who want to list their homes, exchange messages and, ultimately, swap houses to affordably go places. Exchanging your home is rewarding, but it takes time to find the right situations. We help educate our members on the best practices. And, with our AI technology, we help our members find each other!
Our Commitment
To ensure our platform cost members (annually) no more than a night out for two at a nice restaurant and to make it easy to find others who want to exchange with you.
Wonder If Swapping Is For You
I hear you. When Diane suggested swapping in 2011, I put my foot down and said, "No way!" Three years later we were exchanging our home. Shows who calls the shots in our family. Bob’s Blog is about that journey (if you click on the dropdown box "Search a Topic" and select Story), you get how it all began.
Provide Only What Is Necessary
As a community forum, we ask only what is needed for members to find each other. That means everyone provides the same info (general location, interests, photo of you and your home). That’s it! We don’t need your street address or cell number. Only after you’ve communicated via the website numerous times will you want to give that info to your prospective exchange partner. It works and you can build new, lasting friendships.
Traveling Is Our Passion
We market via social media to get the message out. BUT, we’re not power social media users. Like Us, Follow Us, Friend Us, send us messages through our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/seniorhomexchange). That helps, a lot! Eventually, we’ll get back to you. Of course, you can Join and send us In-Mail Messages via the website. After all, it’s free to join.
Timing Is Everything
We originally launched our website March 1, 2020! Obviously, we shut it down that summer, made improvements and relaunched this year. All to say, we are ramping up to make this the best place for likeminded people to swap their homes.
Community Forum, Not Travel Agent
We’re a new way to travel! Seniorhomexchange.com is like a golf or tennis membership. We provide the place. You decide who you want to “play” with. Visiting friends or relatives? Want to go somewhere you haven’t been before? Want to go someplace for a weekend getaway? Looking for an extended vacation? Our members arrange where and when to swap their homes with other members. Our community forum website allows likeminded members to meet, discuss and mutually decide to exchange their homes.
